James Chisum is Vice President at Miller Geer & Associates, a leading public relations and marketing consulting firm with a specialized focus in healthcare. Joining Miller Geer as an intern while earning his degree in Communications with a focus on advertising and consumer behavior, James has since developed roughly two decades of expertise in healthcare public relations, crisis communications, earned media and numerous other aspects of health care marketing. His experience spans some of the nation’s most impactful campaigns, crafted to drive client awareness, shift public discourse, and achieve key strategic outcomes.
As a team leader and client manager, James leads the development and implementation of comprehensive PR strategies, providing expert guidance in crisis and issues management, media relations, branding, and strategic messaging. His meticulous approach and keen sense for a strong story angle have made him a powerful asset in thought leadership and earned media strategies.
A graduate of California State University, Fullerton, James also brings his industry knowledge to several professional organizations. He currently serves as President of the Health Care Communicators of Southern California, and he recently served as a board member and digital communications co-chair for the Healthcare Public Relations and Marketing Association (HPRMA). He has also been certified to serve as Public Information Officer for the American Red Cross Orange County Chapter.
As an account director, Sandy supports the agency with strategic public relations campaign planning, media relations, social media and design. She is an award-winning media relations expert with extensive experience in the healthcare and non-profits industries reaching English, Latinx and multicultural audiences. Through skillful storytelling, Sandy has a proven track record of elevating brand awareness for clients and earning top-tier news media placements.
Sandy has managed some of Southern California’s largest health care providers such as AltaMed Health Services, Torrance Memorial Medical Center, House Clinic, Alvarado Hospital, CareMore Medical Group, St. Vincent Medical Center and many more. She has led many successful public relations campaigns, taking her clients’ stories to the front pages of the LA Times, NY Times, Wall Street Journal, and Orange County Register, and regularly secures broadcast coverage on local network and national TV news.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in communications with an emphasis in public relations from California State University, Fullerton. Away from the office, Sandy practices photography and enjoys crafts, party planning, cooking, and traveling.
